A module you buy once
About $200 to $400, one-off
A ready-made app with a very low entry cost.
KnowBand, Webkul Mobikul
Comparison · updated 1 November 2026
We compared five solutions that turn a PrestaShop store into an iOS and Android app: what they cost in the first year and each year after, the tools they give you to sell (notifications, campaigns, abandoned cart reminders), maintenance once the app is live, and compatibility.
This comparison is written by Alberto, co-founder of Prestafy, one of the five solutions compared. Our limitations are listed just like everyone else’s, and every fact links to its source. Method and sources
01 / Three models
Before comparing tools, choose the model: it determines the budget, how much of your time it takes and who maintains the app once it is published.
About $200 to $400, one-off
A ready-made app with a very low entry cost.
KnowBand, Webkul Mobikul
About €40 to €400 a month
You set up the app in an online editor and change it whenever you like.
Prestafy, FluxBuilder
From $799 a month
A team builds, publishes and looks after the app for you.
MobiLoud
This is the cost people forget when they compare purchase prices. Left unattended, a published app eventually reaches the point where it can no longer be updated.
02 / Cost per year
The cost of the first year, then of each year after, based on public prices. We separate the two because a module’s support ends after a year, while the stores require an app update every year.
A mobile app connected to a PrestaShop store costs €99 to €399 a month excl. VAT with Prestafy, maintenance included and 30 days free on every plan, and $39 to $49 a month with FluxBuilder, with maintenance as a paid add-on. A module bought once costs $317 to $374 in the first year, including a year of support. After that, you need to renew the support and have the app updated every year for the stores, by the vendor or by a freelance developer (€140 to €630 a day in France). Custom development costs €20,000 to €200,000 up front, then 15 to 20% of that amount a year, and a managed service such as MobiLoud at least $799 a month, with publication and maintenance included. Campaigns and reminders, included with Prestafy from the Advanced plan, need a separate tool when the app does not handle them: Brevo offers them in its Professional plan, from €499 a month (€449 a month billed annually). Apple and Google accounts are extra in every case: $99 a year and a one-off $25.

A notification shows up on your customers’ screens without them having to come back to your website. To make it pay, you need to target it, automate it and measure the orders it brings in. When the app cannot do this, you need a service such as OneSignal or Brevo: good tools, built for every platform, that have to be integrated into the app and then connected to your store.
| Criterion | With Prestafy | With a separate tool |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Included from the Advanced plan. | One more subscription. OneSignal: free up to 1,000 monthly active users, then from $19/month plus $0.012 per active user. Brevo: mobile push notifications in the Professional plan, from €499 a month (€449 a month billed annually). |
| Setup | Already in the app, nothing to install. | Its SDK has to be added to the app by a developer, then connected to the store. |
| Store data | Carts, stock and orders are read from PrestaShop: the reminder starts from the real cart, and the alert goes out when the stock comes back. | Depends on the tool: Brevo has an official PrestaShop module for carts and orders, OneSignal does not. Each app customer also has to be linked to their account. |
| Results | Orders placed after a notification was opened, in the app’s dashboard. | Opens and clicks in the tool, sales in PrestaShop: matching them up is down to you. With OneSignal, conversion tracking is only available on plans priced on request. |
| Limits | No sending quota. Per-customer caps and quiet hours keep your customers from tiring of them. | Depends on the plan. OneSignal’s free plan stops at 6 segments and 3 active automated journeys. |
With Prestafy, campaigns and reminders are included from the Advanced plan. Compare plans
Already have a OneSignal account? Prestafy can use it instead of Firebase, from the Advanced plan.
04 / The solutions
What each solution does well, what to know before you sign, and who we would recommend it to, even when that is not Prestafy.
For a PrestaShop brand that wants its app to be a sales channel, without adding a marketing tool.
For a small budget, with a developer to maintain the app afterwards.
For a technical team that wants a base to build on itself.
For an agency that works mostly on WooCommerce or Shopify.
For a retailer whose highly polished mobile website should stay exactly the same in the app.
They also state that they support PrestaShop. We cover them more briefly, without rating them point by point.
AppMySite and Appy Pie do not state that they support PrestaShop, and JMango360 no longer mentions it on its website (1 November 2026).
05 / Frequently asked questions
With Prestafy, expect €99 to €399 a month excl. VAT, maintenance included, and with FluxBuilder $39 to $49 a month, with maintenance as a paid add-on. A module costs $317 to $374 in the first year, then support renewal and a yearly app update for the stores, to be quoted by the vendor or by a developer. Custom development costs €20,000 to €200,000 up front, and a managed service at least $799 a month. Add the developer accounts: $99 a year for Apple, a one-off $25 for Google. See the breakdown by solution.
Only if the app does not handle campaigns, abandoned cart reminders and automated scenarios itself. You then need an extra mobile marketing tool, with its own subscription, which has to be integrated into the app and then connected to the store. With Prestafy, these features are included from the Advanced plan and read PrestaShop’s carts, stock and orders directly.
It needs maintaining: every year, Apple and Google require it to be rebuilt before it can be updated, PrestaShop keeps changing and libraries receive security fixes. With Prestafy or a managed service, this is included; with some vendors, it is a paid option. With a module bought once, it is down to you after the support period.
The catalogue, prices and stock follow the store wherever they appear. With Prestafy, the Studio also changes the home screen, menus, navigation and colours without going back through the stores. Changing the icon, splash screen or name always takes a new release.
A native app draws its own screens from the store’s data, without loading the website’s pages. An app that loads the website keeps all its modules, but runs at the website’s speed, and has to add native elements to be accepted by Apple.
A PWA is your website, installed by the customer from their browser: it costs less, but it has no App Store listing, and on iPhone it only receives notifications if the customer has added it to their home screen (iOS 16.4 and later). A native app is downloaded from the stores and can send notifications to every customer who accepts them. If notifications and a place in the stores matter to you, choose a native app. Otherwise, a PWA may be enough. Our guide compares all three: mobile app, responsive website or PWA.
With an app that loads the website, yes. With a native app, only the supported modules appear: check the compatibility list, especially for payment and delivery.
Solutions included: those that state they support PrestaShop. Each fact comes from the vendor’s public pages (features, pricing, FAQ, release notes), checked on 27 October 2026 and verified on 1 November 2026; a feature that is not mentioned is marked “Not stated”. PrestaMobApp by FME Modules, ConvertNative and PrestApp are covered more briefly, without a point-by-point rating. The cost per year uses public prices, with no total over several years, since module maintenance prices are not published; custom development is costed from HubSpot (page updated 25 November 2022) and Le Blog du Dirigeant (page updated 18 July 2025) for building an e-commerce app, and from Techsy (page updated 21 October 2026) for yearly maintenance. Module support was checked on 1 November 2026 on the KnowBand and Webkul pages; the day rate of a mobile developer in France, on Codeur.com (October 2026 average) and LeFreelance.fr (experienced developer in Paris, page updated 8 October 2026). The cost of a yearly update by a developer is not estimated: the time it takes depends on the app and the state of its code. OneSignal and Brevo are not app solutions: they are cited for what a separate notification tool costs, with prices checked on 1 November 2026. Next update: February 2027, then every quarter.
